The Nordic Barn is an outdoor retail store specializing in hiking, biking  and skiing. We were established in 1995 in order to take care of the outdoor recreational needs of Topnotch Resort and Spa guests. As time has passed, the store has grown considerably to include a considerable array of retail, rentals and services, available to the general public as well as Topnotch Resort guests. Today the Nordic Barn is proud to offer an exciting, high-end collection of  clothing and equipment for the outdoor enthusiast.

The store is located in a huge red barn on the Mountain Road in Stowe, Vermont. Inside the Nordic Barn is very cozy, with a wood stove, comfortable couches, and a free pot of hot coffee.  The store is owned by Don Allen and his family of Johnson, Vt.  Don and his wife, Anne Allen, have three kids, Luke, Courtenay and Holley, all of which can be found at one time or another pitching in to help keep things running smoothly.

In recent years the Nordic Barn has concentrated a great deal of effort to capture the backcountry, telemark, and alpine touring (AT) business in the area. As people started showing up from all over the region to check out our new gear, we felt a need to go a little bigger and establish this website.
